SleepHey,
Can anyone help me out? For the last week I haven't been able to sleep at all, I'm pretty much awake for the whole night. Last night I got to sleep around 5am, but woke up a few hours later. Night before i got about 2 hours sleep. I feel exhausted. I've changed my bedcovers, turned my mattress (as that is meant to help) but I still can't sleep. What's wrong? Why can't I sleep?
If you could help me out, I'd really really appreciate it as I feel like I'm about to faint every moment of the day!!
Thanks

I get in bed about 10pm or 11pm, but I stay awake until about 5am before I can actually manage to sleep

Try some Horlicks, a drink that helps you sleep
You can get it in Malt (Original) or chocolate flavour.

I have! Night before yesterday I was up at 4am jogging!! I still couldn't sleep! And everyday this week I have been playing tennis, I just can't sleep!
I'm going to try Horlicks, but I want to be able to sleep without relying on things.. but right now I'll try it

Moved to Teen Help And Advice.
First of all, don't worry about going to sleep.
When you go to bed are you tired? Or are you going to bed because it is getting late and you feel you need to rest?
As suggested, Horlicks can help, as can warm milk! Don't drink a lot of caffeine based beveraged throughout the day as that never helps!
Spraying lavendar or aroma sprays onto your pillow can be soothing. Exercise such as stretching before you sleep helps to loosen your muscles and wares your body out without making yourself too tired.

Okay, one thing first. I am only 14, so please don't talk about me having sex!
And Amy, that was really helpful, thanks. I feel exhausted though, and I still can't sleep. I shut my eyes for 2 seconds, and when I opened them I felt faint. I always drink warm milk before I go to bed.. so that isn't really working either!
Swipes, what's wrong with us?
I was reading your topic and Stacey asked:
Are you eating healthy? Not sure
Are you in love? Yes
Do you use the computer a lot? Yes
So maybe that's why.. BUT I can't help being in love!

What do you think of when you shut your eyes?
Have you recently had a nightmare?

Well, I did have a wierd dream last week..
And what I think always changes. Sometimes I think of the day, people, my life etc. But even so, I've always been a worrier/thinker, it's never affected my sleep

I've had insomnia many times. Try listening to calm relaxing music at night and focus on the music and nothing else. I've tried many herbal sleeping aid and stuff and they don't really help. My sleep CD does though. I'll PM you and send you some mp3s that really help me.

The strange thing is, that when you can't sleep and are trying to get to sleep you can sleep without knowing it! And then you open your eyes like 10 mins feeling like you havent slept - but you have...

Very true! but what i meant was, if your like in an early relationship or something then your emotions and hormones are at high levels, which can affect patterns of sleeping on some people! (well thats what happened with me, after i met my bf for the first time :P haha im alright now though)
With the healthy eating, if your not eating very healthy then fatty sugary foods (like E numbers etc) can affects patterns of sleep, like the same affect as coffee and tea (please don't think im saying your not eating healthy or something though)
And watching Tv and going on the computer straight before your sleep can also affect your sleeping!
I haven't read everyones methods but have you tried reading a book? after a few chapters i have to stop as i'm falling asleep :P
it can be many things though! if you do get too worried about it then i'd see your GP.
