New Karate kid On The Block
Will Smith's ten year old son Jaden is to play the lead in the remake of 80s classic The Karate Kid.
The I Am Legend actor's son will star in the new version of the 1984 hit, and will follow the original story of a bullied youth learning to stand up for himself thanks to the help of an eccentric mentor with baffling training methods.
The film will be transported from the original's American setting to Beijing. the star's dad, Will Smith, is producing the film with Columbia Pictures.
The original movie starred Ralph Macchio as the titular hero, and spawned three sequels. The fourth instalment, The Next Karate Kid, starred future Oscar winner Hilary :).
Jaden Smith made his debut alongside his father in 2006s The Pursuit of Happyness. He will next be seen in the forthcoming sci-fi remake The Day The Earth Stood Still.
