Re: LaptopI would say... NO :P Not a very good spec, and rather poor for the money it costs.
It really depends on what you want to use it for. If you just want a basic lappy then this spec would be fine, but the battery life will be low, performance will be very slow with Vista Premium installed, and I recon you could get a similar spec for around £100 less.
See this for exacmple -

But I'd go for something more like this -

It's only £30 more and for that you get; Much faster Dual Core CPU, extra 9 months CAR warranty, double the memory (2gb), 40gb extra HDD, and a 6 cell battery.

I wouldn't recommend Dell computers at all. They freeze, they have stupid processors and support, bad warrentys and cheap casing.
No wonder schools buy them :?
The Memory is good, processor is bad, warrenty is not good(ng) and video card and video processors are crap.
Bad, Bad and bad again. I wouldn't reccommend it

I have a Dell computer and its the most reliable thing I've ever had :P
The computers you really need to steer clear from are Packard Bell's, they're really powerful and stuff, but UGH they break down so easily and are always going wrong  :P

Adam, dell don't make processors, they use intel and AMD. The laptop in question is an intel dual core - most new computers nowadays have either that or core 2 duo (or core 4 code if you can afford it ;) )
