Just keep going on about, how much you really want one,
and that you'll pay for it, you'll clean it out like once/twice a week, and will look after it and they will have to do nothing!

I never thought I'd be allowed a pet either. I now have Lily, my third hamster. Tell your parents that having a pet teaches you to be responsible. Your pet depends on you for everything from being fed to getting it's home cleaned. Offer to contribute to the cost of food, bedding etc. If they still say no ask for a smaller pet, like a hamster. Show you can care for it well and they may let you have a guinea pig. If they do agree buy a book or borrow one from the library and read all about the pet you are going to get and how to care for it and what it will nedd before getting it. I wanted a guinea pig too and was told I could have a hamster. Now I wouldn't want any other pet

Hi,
I have two guinea pigs... I bought them at a rescue...
They are alot of work you know, alot of people don't realise that.
You don't just put some food in and hope for the best... You have to care for them...
They need to be groomed, cleaned, trimmed, and kept healthy. Thats just the cavie itself, the cage needs looking after too. Also it needs to have alot of room if you don't have a run for them. You will need to clean the hutch once/twice a week depending how big/small it is. It needs to be disinfected properly with small animal disinfectant not bleech.
So if you are going to get one please read up about them from reliable sources, at a rescue if possible, and make sure you know what you are getting into.
Cavies need to be kept healthy, if you get one from a pet shop make sure that he/she is healthy. (by checking its fur, skin, teeth, ribs etc.) Many pet shops sell unhealthy/genetically mutated pigs. Its best to get one from a rescue. They care for them and won't sell any sick cavies. Don't think that you can only get old unwanted one from the rescues you can get babies too.
Also if you are going to get a male and a female you have to know that it is possible for the parents to reject their infant. This is when you will have to step in as parent. You will have to feed it, groom it and really just care for it how the mother would have.
Sorry for going on, I just wanted you to know that cavies are hard work for little things. Especially if they get sick.
Please read up about them first.

They need the care that all animals need! Don't think just because they are small that they won't need to be looked after. They do, especially if they get ill.
Oh and in the winter you should either bring them in or put them in a unused garage or shed.
But yes, They Do Rock!
